These programs are designed for students of a foreign language to master English before entering into the technical portion of the curriculum.  Financial aid (TAP/PELL) is available to eligible students enrolled in programs of 1440 hours minimum.  PELL grant only for students enrolled in programs of less than 1440 hours.

  ESL-Clerical Assistant - 1920 Hours

 5 Terms, Diploma Upon Completion

This curriculum provides English instruction to speakers of a foreign language entering at the beginner level. Upon successful completion of the ESL portion, students will enter into the technical portion of the curriculum.  Graduates may acquire entry-level clerical office assistant positions.

Entrance Requirements:

  • 16 years or older

  • Personal interview with Department of Admissions

  • Proof of graduating high school or equivalent

  • Score at Beginner Level on entrance tests (NYS Place)

Upon successful completion of the ESL portion, students will enter into the technical portion of the curriculum.  Graduates may acquire entry-level positions as assistants in a bookkeeping/computerized environment.

    Entrance Requirements:

  • 16 years of age or older

  • Personal interview with Department of Admissions

  • Proof of graduating high school or equivalent

  • Score at Intermediate Level on entrance tests (NYS Place)
